Close Encounters
DVD Review

May.29.2001

Why does Steven Spielberg  keep making movies like this?

Just take a look at some of his flicks.Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Poltergeist, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark,Jaws. He also produced Gremlins, Back to the Future, Goonies, many others. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. He ruins movies forever because no matter what movie I see from now on, it will NEVER be as good as the first time I saw Back to the Future in 1985 at West Edmonton Mall, or the time I saw Indiana Jones when I was 13 from the middle seat in the first row at the Peace River movie theatre. Or the afternoon when me and my brother saw Poltergeist at the matinee. I KNEW they just couldn't possibly ever make a scarier movie. Carol Anne can stay away from the light or not, I didn't care, but when that clown dragged that poor kid under his bed... forgetaboutit. So thanks Spielberg, for destroying movies for me forever. I'll never see Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade for the first time again. Oh well A.I. Is coming out, but unfortunately I'm not 14 anymore. Back to the topic at hand. This double DVD set is very tits. 11 Deleted scenes, a very long documentary, DTS Surround Sound and god damn if  they didn't clean it up so well it looks like they shot this movie last year. If you buy dvd's at all, put this on your list. I'm too busy paying back people I owe money to so I can't buy as many dvd's as I like these days, but I grabbed this little jewel and I've already watched it twice. If you wanna check out what they say at amazon.com then click HERE

I would like to say something in closing tho, I FINALLY saw Schindler's List about two months ago after everyone told me to check it out, and I gotta say, I didn't think it was all that funny.
