Jay read this first

Tuesday.October.2.2001
As all geeks like myself know. Tuesday is the day that new CDs and DVDs come out. The even BIGGER geeks know that Wednesday is the day that the new comics come out. But I digress. I know that many a Monday night at Midnight, I was standing in Tower Records with my buddy Jay, waiting for the new product to hit the shelves. Lately however, I've been neglecting my geeky duties for one reason or another, so I haven't been buying new shiznit. Today I stopped by A&B Sound on the way home and thought I'd just check out the new CDs that have come out lately. I wasn't goinna spend a penny, but I saw the new Orbital.Altogether cd had come out. I didn't know they had a new CD so, I had to buy it. That's it at the top left there. On my way to the record counter I noticed a new strange looking band called Tweaker. "What is this?" I thought. Naturally A&B sound has listening booths to hook in the impulse buyers of the world, I am not one of them. At least I tell myself that to make me feel a little better about my place as one of the Sheep in the flock of Consumerville. So on goes the headphones and .. I have to say I was really blown away. Tweaker is right up there with some of my other all time favorites.

Tweakers real name is Chris Vrenna. He's a former member of Nine Inch Nails so right away I thought he can't be all that bad as Trents pretty picky when it comes to his bandmates. The album is a sort of mesh of  rock and electronica. Some of my favorite all time music is Crystal Method, Fluke, Rob Zombie, NIN, Download, Skinny Puppy and Marilyn Manson so to hear something come right out of nowhere and match the speeds of these guys, really blew my doors off. Don't go thinking I'm some death metal, purple haired goth sumbitch. Nah, I just really like the music. Marilyn Manson could be singing about daises and puppy dogs for all I care, I just like the hard edged tweaky sounding beats. Chris Vrenna produced and remixed u2's elevation for the tomb raider soundtrack, and that was a kick ass remix so I was off to the checkout to purchase my newly found music to design websites with. After getting home and looking up Chris Vrenna on the web, I also found out he did singles for Nelly Furtado, Weezer, Xzibit, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and of course NIN.

Chris also produced Smashing Pumpkins, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Hole and Green Day.This shit is fucking TIGHT and awesome, yer goinna cry when ya hear it. Run out, naked, and grab yourself a copy. I haven't been this impressed with a new cd since NIN came out with The Fragile - this is goinna be in my cd tray until 2005. Oh wait, Poe and David Usher have been putting out great stuff, but again, I digress. I just wanted to pass along to the good news to the rest of the web designers out there who have a light social calendar and a distaste for cable TV. This is a must get. Oh wait.. Enterprise was a good cable tv show. Oh GOD I am such a geek.

Remember, wherever ya go, there ya are.
